Dana Cook
Post-Doctoral Fellow
- Post-doctoral fellow with OPOR; working to facilitate a strong and dynamic connection between the needs of Ulithian communities regarding their reef resources and the science that can help inform the management of those reefs
- PhD in Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Biology, University of California Santa Barbara, July 2023
- Dana is interested in what makes ecosystems and the people tied to them resilient to global and local change, and how we can integrate modern science and traditional knowledge systems to achieve management goals.
- Growing up, Dana spent time hiking, diving, gardening, and fishing with her family in California and overseas. This allowed her to develop a deep appreciation for how people hunt, grow, and cook their food, especially in cultures that have been cultivating their traditions for a long time.
